Located in the heart of historic downtown Newport, the International Yacht Restoration School (IYRS) has transformed a once-abandoned section of waterfront into a thriving center for maritime education and restoration. Visit the school’s 2.5 acre waterfront campus and see students at work on boatbuilding and restoration projects, watch the restoration of the 133’ 1885 schooner Coronet, tour our marina that hosts a fleet of restored classic yachts or simply enjoy a walk along the waterfront. Water taxi available to the Museum of Yachting at Fort Adams during the summer. IYRS is open year-round to the public.
